SAFETY IN NUMBERS,25/04/14:FISHING FEEDBACK &'FAB FIVE'

I missed this Sealine invite, but had bumped into Psalatarix on Thursday, and fishing in a group came up.

Friday morning came, here we go again...whenever plans get made...they get derailed.Had foodpoisoning,up all night, buckled up in pain.

Anyways,I decided to work it off at angling, not let the guys down, kept it to myself.Plus Rob also wanted to join me,didn't know spots,so there was no backing out.

Plus there has to be a commitment to this 'Safety in Numbers'.It won't work unless anglers unite and make a commitment to consider the safety of his fellow anglers, as this in turn contributes to an angler's very own safety by fishing in numbers. So,works both ways.

Long story short,we got a Fab Five together,Pslatarix brought Hannes & Wynand, and Rob followed me in his bakkie.

Fab Five had a Fab time,we could watch the cars from where we fished in safety of numbers, before moving in confidence to check other less than safe spots.

Dolphins were close in,so rain was acoming, and I find fish usually disappear in this scenario. But Hannes got a Cob,before I even got in the water.

This got the adrenalin flowing, fingers couldn't get knots tied quick enough, lol.

But fish apparently had made their visit the previous day,so other than barble or crabs, nix else.

'Safety in numbers' - Definitely can work, with a lil help from others.

Thanks,Pslatrix, for getting this together. Was great takeing back the beaches by fishing in numbers.Plus meeting some fellow anglers, who are really cool chaps.

Was my 1st groupfish in years,as packed fishing up.I'd Dig to do it again in the future, all going well.

Cheers

Well now thats good to hear, Hopefully we can get another bigger group together and then go fish where we want and when we want. Nice one Pslaterix, next time hopefully more fish will come out. by the way, when fishing commercially years ago, when the dolphins came swimming by, we nailed the kob!!! It was always our sign that the cob were going to bite!! Amazing!

I hope to get together once Im home again, for a group outing??????Possibly a Fab10???..LOL

It seems there might be a big SE on the way. Swell is going to increase, then start dropping , just in time when Im home, Who is going to be in for a fish next week? Please advise which is better for you, weekdays or weekends? It will help to know who is around for a fish, then I send out details.

Will keep you updated....just bear in mind...there will be alot of small fish around there now, except maybe arches with a couple of decent steenies swimming there. Well hit the beaches and if conditions arent great then we hit the rocks! Thats my game plan anyway. looking forward to a meet and putting a face to the avatar!...Bait of choice for me is going to be prawn and chokka, mussel, one cob rod and one steenie rod! cant wait! I think conditions are going to be great and we are going to get decent fish..::S
