Hake fillets

hi guys,

not that big on making fish but i want to try it out. what would you say is the best way to make the plain hake fillets we buy from PP / Checkers?

any advice would be appreciated!

I like to fry mine in a little champagne/sparkling wine. When reduced it goes nice a sweet and sticky...

Plain and simple, coat with seasoned flour, dip into egg and gently pan fry in a shallow mix of butter & olive oil!

I just dust them in flour lightly fry in Olive oil.

Squeeze a fresh lemon add some crushed garlic and let the fillets sit for a while but not too long.

Take some flour add salt, ground black pepper, paprika or chilli powder (use rationally) Mixed herbs or just thyme (which ever 1 you prefer) and mix well.

Heat some Olive oil on low heat, dip the fillets in the flour ensure the fillet is fully covered and dust off excess. Fry for -+ 5 minutes on each side until cooked through. And watch the heat, having the stove too high will result in the flour batter burning and the fish not cooking.

Serve with some Stir-fried veggies and a good glass of dry white.

OK here goes,

Take good old English mustard and lightly spread on both sides. Dip into milk, do not soak it, only get it nice and wet. Shake access liquid and dip in flour covering completely both sides. (Mix your favorite spice with the flour). Pan fry in shallow oil (veggy is ok but olive better).

Ek het baie lus om 'n thread te begin soortgelyk aan "Kicking the Habit" waar die manne saamstaan om op te hou rook.

Ek sal nou nie sê ek wil ophou eet nie, maar ek moet beslis 'n paar kilo's afval, my trotse borskas het verander in 'n ou hangkas!

In my geval is dit nou bietjie anders, ek het net hoogte verloor ::S

Ek sekondeer, kan self n paar kilo's verloor.

ek is sommer nou weer honger!!

@JFE, dit klink soos n plan!!!

dit gaan nou die tweede aand wees die week wat ek vis gaan maak :)
my vrou gaan wonder hoekom is ek so lus vir vis, gaan haar se dit is sealine se skuld :)

Laat weet wat jy dink, ek het die 1ste keer gedink die ou is mal om mosterd op te smeer maar was verras oor die smaak, regtig 'n lekker afwisseling.
