skippers license

Could some one please advise me on this querry I have a3.5m boat and 6hp motor that i would like to us for river fishing.what are the requirements . many thanks carl

i have just been investigating the same thing.. from what i have been told, no licence required for anything under 15hp.

i can email you all the info i got from samsa earlier this week.

2. Pleasure vessels being sailing vessels of more
than 9 metres in overall length or power driven
vessels of more than 15 HP require a Small Vessel
Certificate of Competence in accordance with the
regulations

Pleasure sailing vessels under 9 metres length
overall and pleasure power driven vessels ≤15HP
do not require to be operated by a certificated
skipper in terms of these regulations.
