hi there

Here are some pics of the ordinary fishing kites I have made ... they are good from 30 - 60 km winds and the clip releases on time every time with a 10oz sinker attached.

I do 2 kites - 1 50x50 cm and 1 - 60x60cm. made from a durable ripstop material and bright colour. they fly!! Use ski rope or old sheet for the tail.

A kit is 2 kites with dal sticks and 2 release clips @ R400.

PM if interested.

Sandyslider,

I like your enthusiasm tremendously and the simplicity of your clip reminds me of the saying,''if it aint broken, dont fix it''.I have seen guys take out baits tied to the Kite-line with Ghost cotton ,those thick elasticated ones from 30 years ago. At one time or another there was also some sort of ''sugar-line'' that was used.I cant remember if the line sort of disintegrated when it got wet or exactly how the old timers used it ,but it worked for them.

Thumbs up for your enthusiasm, and innovation.::S

Very nice And Simple Kite .

I will try and weade through the wind tomorrow and go and take a pic of the best clip i have seen Yet .
Enigma- yes I Still have the Outrigger clip you gave me- Thankfully when i lost The Kite , popped the Kp , and generally stuffed up , i managed to Retrieve it every time .

The clip I am Referring to is nothing revolutionary , Barr The fact the instead of flying yor kite out and up On the Kite line , it is done On the BAIT line .

Once the Kite Reaches a satisfactory distance , a simply tightening up of the as-yet freespooled Kite Line will simply move a pin out of th eway , and "hey presto", the bait releases effortlessly from the rig .

nothing could be More simpler , and not surprisingly , it is a simply adaptation on a similar or near identical Set up used with another famous brand of local kite , the Attachment areas and Release Method has simply been reversed .
sheer genius In My books .

Were kite fishing Not so damn well Attention-drawing in this town, i Would easily attempt another go at it- This time simply managing to Tack the kite into the wind , allowing Me a virtual Perpendicular Drop instead of what took Place previously .
enigs i am interested to see how this clip Of his Works too .I would Imagine that both points are simply stuck through the eye of The Swivel, and Once Ready , a yank changes the "" X " Crossed over points to a v , and The bait and sinker fall to the ocean .

Voila .
figured it out already ! lol
Now to figure out what Makes women happy . ok

See you all in 2027 then .

Anton, it's a spammer who posts adds all over the place and his posts have to be cleaned so it's not relevant to the thread that's why there is confusion

Hi guys,

Is there anyone here that has the time or inclination to explain how kite fishing works, just the "getting it out there" part.

I get the principle of the whole thing, just not the "launching" and retrieving part.

Also, would it be good for kob in False Bay if one is a bit short on the cast getting to the back-line.

Thanks.

For dropping.baits all you need is a set of windsong single.line kites.

Trim and tilt amd tack all possible and adjust according to prevailing wind.

I use either my rigged Saltist or a Tor 50 (both rigged standard for shark fishing) to deploy and retrieve the kite.

So get a.windsong like I've been telling you for 3 years and use the Saltiga or even a SL50 to deploy and retrieve the kite.

No new kit, no.special it just a set of 2 kites, low and high wind.

Craig I was having a look at Puals fishing kites and saw how they all use delta winged kites like the falcon from windsong . I saw they simply added a piece of plastic to the side of the kite that they wanted to tack towards, can this be done on the falcon? oh and I found out from greg at windsong what the difference between the med and std fishing kites are, the std is 60x60 and the med is 70x70,same materials used and the std has carbon stays. R175 for the std and R275 for the med. Falcon is R350.
