@JPB

well it could be more than one factor that can cause you to blank

1 your baite . what bait did you use for the commen carp ?

2 the depth . what depth do you think you put ur line in

3. what was the weather conditions , sunny windy medium ect ect

4 then the main factor your dip , did you change the fariety every time you threw in ?

oky i have a few swd recipies i can hand to you witch was given to me by many anglers

its good to have a little book in your mootybox to write down and keep track on your times as wel as new recipies you incounter if you are lucky

the easy and cheap way to get loose is either mooiers essans like for instance almond , vanilla , egg yellow , custerd ,ect or any dip you have in ur mooty box
you will need cake flour , a plastic container a spoon and water normaly i use the spot were i fish

take 2 spoons of the cake flour or koekmeel as we call it
add 1 tea spoon of dip or flavouring
then add water remember to add water slowly and stir good till the doug starts to cling to your spoon then take some vanilla or almand just a bit and soke your hands this will help to get out all the funny smells that might chase the fish away add a bit of flour in your hand and take the doug and start to play with it rolling it around in you hands
after a wile you will feel that it is starting to get its form if the doug sticks to ur hand just ad a bit more flour and do the same step till it is nice and soft remember to keep the doug in the shade for maximum use otherwise your doug will become sticky again and wot be easy to put on your hook

for feeding i will say supercast the 1 and only thing you should ever use there is many ways to prepair the bom but the way shown on the package is the fastest

then you are set to go fish normaly what i do is i put one line deep and the other one shallow but not to shallow my meters is normaly 30 m shallow 50 - 70 m deep

happy :ifishin you must post some pics of the bank were you fish as well as the fish you caught there

@connas

thanks for the help, will give it a shot.
the weather was great all weekend, there was no wind but a bi t cool.
we took our baits out to 200m,and short 30-50m tried everything. boilies, tiger nuts, white dough backing with various floaties, mielies, brown bread ect. even kaboem mielies with carp hunter nuts but just blanked.
tried all flavour dips, do you think that the wrong dips could actually "chase the fish away"
after trying all the sweet dips i tried lemon, bluegum, vampire ect. do you think mixing actually is bad??

thanks

Firstly, are you a conventional angler or specimen angler? I see you got baits all mixed up from floaties to backing dough to boillies to tigernuts? Just how do you rig these boillies,tiger nuts? I looks like you using mielliebom and rietvlei stroppe? If u not using specimen rigs, your chances of catching on tigers and boillies is about 0%. Many a big Carp have been caught specimen way with plain peeled tigers 300-400m out, 20-40lb's!

hi iggy,
my father is from England thus he only knows boilies and tiger nuts with the specimen rigs, i am a bit more conventional and only really know the old ways, on dough mielies and floaties i used the "rietvlei" rig, with mieliebomb. These rods i usually cast, i have two 14ft rods with night hawk reels, then i had 2 rods that we took out with a radar controlled boat prob 200m, these were specimen rigged, with a mieliebomb as well. with shimano 8000 reels.
after 3 days i just tried everything?? ^^.. hope this explains a bit more!

thanks for your reply
