How is the fishing in this area? What eds do i target and what bait do i use? Going there for weekend 05-08 April. Was told i could maybe target non eds, how true is this. Any info will be great, cause i cannot see myself for a entire weekend at sea and not fishing.:X

Hi Guys, just to let you know i had a great time in Lamberts bay. Yep the crayfish was plentyfull but so was the Hottentot. I found that they are more active on high tide and i fished around the harbour wall area where i killed them. It was my first time in this area and therefore i had no knowledge of the fish and area at all. However i soon realised that they similar to stumps and therefore made a few adjustments and then it was on.

I will definitely go back as it was a nice peacefull weekend with plenty crayfish....:D

Hi there Scalci
You are at a better place in Strandfontein (west coast) than in Lamberts bay it self. just talk to the locals there the will point you in the right driection. or if you are in Graafwater talk to Hugo Neethling at the local cop shop he might have some pointers for you.
Well the harbor produced some catch of bream. Enter on the harbor wall leading to the bird island and walk about 150m look where there is signs of fishing. you will see some rocks close to the wall if you look to your left facing the island. look for working water on high. be care full of the waves.
also move around to malkop baai and you will find some nice places to cast there... but that area is dangerous due to wave action.......
opposite the caravan park is some rocks which might have a surprise or 2
enjoy
