Afternoon ladies and gents Just a word of caution, do not, I repeat, do not underestimate this venue. It have become extremely technical since the KDM ann safov match festival have been held there. Fine baits, as in EXTREMELY fine baits is the way to go on the smallest hook possible, 0,5 being best. Also, for some reason there is a large amount of crabs in the dam lately. I had to replance 18 traces's hooks after fishing there last week. Good luck, enjoy, and I am exitately awaiting your report and feedback!

Dewalds Sorry for only replying now, crazy couple of days. ok got there around 7am and started setting up, 2 guys next to the reeds already busy. I had a few small ones, couple medium size then BAM BAM 3.5kg come out, man was I happy. Awesome place to go and play around for the day, 16 in total that came out, 6 lost on carp rods, 2 out of those 6 broke my hook lines, and 1 decent run on the barbel rod but then nothing. But as you mentioned small baits worked only floaties, and pink sweets. Will go there again in the month, already got 3 friends that's going to tag along.

Hey everyone This is very late but I can update this page with yet another blank at Funfishing, this was last month Dec 2018 I do specimen angling and tried a few tigers, and my friends tried plain milies and mielie bomb, also some floaties. Another friend tried bread. we all blanked and my friends litle daughter had a small bite and then nothing haha. I am going back this Sunday to try some zig rigs, Ill report back wwith my result if any.

So we went there on Sunday, had a great day , caught 6 carp (small to me), the biggest one looked about just over 3kg. Zig rigs worked amazingly well as 5 out of 6 were caught on zigs. we missed alot of them due to fishing right next to the snags with zigs , they would swim in to the reeds and then only after they are in there do the alarms react. we missed others as the would get off the hook due to bad hook holds.
