Dear All,
as you may have read on SEALINE, we have a vibrant sports fishing scene in Angola. Yesterday, I was privileged to attend the Planing Sesson for the Season 2010/2011 and I think I have some interesting news.
Adjusted t&r rules: Minimum weights for Marlin have gone up to 300kgs. A formula guarantees the fishing teams 1.100 pt/fish = full release points equalling a 300kgs fish. 500 Sailfish t&r points are equal to those for a 50kgs dangler at the weigh in. Strict c&r for Tarpon for (if I'm not mistaken) 225pts/fish and a decent film footage.
Bag Limits: Shark limits go from 10kgs to 50 kgs now. Max 3 animals per species can be weighed as by-catch. Tuna min 10kgs, dorados 8kgs, all other 10kgs min.
Techniques: From now on all techniques except jigging are allowed; previously only trolling was permitted. All salt water species which are IGFA line-class-listed count.
Apparently, before long, Ministry of Fisheries will introduce a 20kgs/head bag limit. As this will not count for competitions, we expect plenty more new entrants into the National League... looks like excitement ahead.
Watch this space for some more reporting, but first: Let Your Beautiful Games begin!!!
Cordially,
the Pargo Man!
