i am new to the page would like some info on Vaalrus going there this long weekend for some fishing with friends.
any tips and is the fishing and stay over great.

Info needed.

welcome to Sealine. The Vaal is fairly easy these days, weather permitting. Anything would about work. So try FX, BANJO, DEVILSFORK, TAC, ALMOND S, HASBEEN, GP, STUTTAFORDS .....see? I've mentioned way to many dips. Just keep it straight and simple.

 Ja manne haal maar die stokke uit en bere hulle as jul gaan slaap.Die manne daar kom met canoes van ander kant die rivier af en dan kom hou hulle kollekteer hulle gerei en verdwyn dan weer.Ek het al paar keer daar gevang en daar mooi vis maar moet se het al paar keer goed gesukkel ook.Tjop tjop,FX,musk,En dan vir daai extra iets vat bietjie baba poeier en bruin brood bry die poeier in die brood in en kyk wat gebeur het goed gevan daarmee.

jammer vir di misverstand. Ekt bedoel vaalDAM en RIVIER is deesdae relatief maklik. Maw, die vaal-stelsel. Ek was nog nooit by Vaalrus oord nie. Die dips wat ek genoem het sal basies oral werk in die vaal-stelsel.

 Horrid experience Reported by fellow angler.

Ok all you fellow anglers here goes... after asking you guys for any info on Vaalrus Camping & Fishing Resort and only 2 ppl giving info and understanding that not everybody has been there I decided to take my family there... we contacted the place and spoke to a Jaques we asked him if it was a family friendly resort and were given the assurance that it was as it had chalets pools a supertube and restaurant and little shop I requested a chalet on the waterfront so we could wake up to the awesome sight of the river and our lines in the water as the sun rises with a nice cup of coffee.... this was a guarantee from Jaques I phoned them daily requesting photographs of the site to help us make up our mind on the place. We then spoke to Marie and Bert who also apparently run the place to no avail. We took the chance and went through only to drive into a resort of absolute horrors! NO RESTAURANT, NO SHOP, DILAPIDATED BUILDINGS, AND DEFINITELY NOT CHILD FRIENDLY! As there was no shop we were told that we could give them a list with money and they would go get the items, which we did. Saturday morning we gave Jacques a list of basic necessities and R200 and never saw him again. He disappeared with our and other campers money! When we complained about this and the state of everything, we were told that we were the problem... So we decided to take photographs for other campers to look at to see what they will be in for if they dare to go to this horrendous place and please note from their own mouths, we had the best "chalet" on the property. As for the fishing, almost every line cast got stuck and hooked up on things in the water. Lost over a dozen traces in a couple of days!
