Clark Craft

Ok here's going back possibly 30 years, these boats(Clark Craft) were wooden boats.

Can anyone remember anything about these boats ? how did they handle the sea, a solid boat or not, any stories about them etc. Maybe there's someone who owned one many moons ago or possibly still has one that could shed some light.

Reason I'm asking is that I've been offered one of these boats in immaculate condition from the owner who has to part with it but doesnt want to sell it.

Any info would be appreciated

Mombakkie, looks like they are all to young to remember Brian Clark and his marine-ply Clark Craft's that he built in Tokai, from the early to mid 70's.

In those days you seldom saw a glassfiber ski-boat.

Wooden boats were a pain, each year at the end of July, when the snoek season closed (now who remembers the days when we had a closed season for snoek), you had to sand down and re-paint your marine-ply boat to prepare for the new season.

We are lucky today with our zero maintenance glassfibre hulls.

Seems he was a legend in the spearfishing circles as well, won the Nationals from 1965 t0 1970 ...

28 and an 18. Really quick

My brother fitted wheels so the old man could stay dry at launching while we kids got soaked every time.
Easy to row easy to drive.
