Are there any easily accessible shore-based spots in Sedgefield lagoon / Swartvlei? I'm heading out that way for 2 weeks in a weeks time. I have a box full of hard and soft lures to throw for anything willing to bite them.

Sedge lagoon yes & no.
The better spots to throw plugs are not accessible ~ i.e. the fish may not be present.

Swartvlei! You need a canoe or boat on the Swartvlei.

Best bet is a canoe, as the flats in sedge lagoon are too shallow to float a boat. The canoe will get you going all over.

Theres a fellow in the town renting boats etc:

Sedgefield boat & canoe hire, offers boat cruisers on sedgefield, knysna & plett lagoons or skipper the boat skippers licence no problem,we have the small 3.2m 4man spider boats with 5hp outboards,we have rubber ducks for sking & wakeboarding & the cabin boats for the family or over nighting.we offer launch & recovery services in & around knysna & tempory boat & trailer storage.cell 0828249524/0763935835 or email us on
