Torium30 vs saltist 50h

Your gonna be hard pressed to find a shimano breaking!..its as strong as houses..the only one eg i heard was on a trinidad where the antireverse stopper broke after coming out from service..it was the technicians fault..thats bout it..anyone else had any experiences?..

One that note, my Speedmaster is making a squeaking noise when i reel. The noise sound like the handle needs lube....any ideas guys???

Hi Nivi4Zn

I've got some good advice on that sqeaking noise You must get to the water more often and fish that noise away. Had to pull your leg on that one.

My vote will also go for the Shimano Torium 30 although the specs on the daiwa is very impressive on paper.

Got both 20/40 shimanos/torium and currently fishing with saltist.

Shimano forever.Ive had to replace my star drag on my saltist 3 times.Daiwa told me it was just a bad batch and it should be sorted out.You will neva beat a shimano if u fish alot.

Both those reels are very good and I would say there is no material difference between the two so it really comes down to personal preferences...Like I prefer Diawa.

Ive heard of more problems with the Toriums, but that's probably because there are more in use...

I have 5 SL50SH reels that have given me the most amazing service, the oldest about 15 years now!

One thing for sure all new Shimanos just feel better suppose it's the comfi handle was a Daiwa fanatic now all the way Shimano.Recently I found out that the Saltiga fixed spools are more expensive than their big bros the multipliers.Daiwa is losing market share because of their prices.

I had the part that changes from free spool into gear brake on my torium and it was not even a month old I only fish with shimanos and love them it must have just been somthing wrong with that one
