ONDA TYPE LURES

I've used the original Onda Onde lure, the Kingfisher brand Onda, the Gummy type, all with great success & know there are more overseas brands available. ie. Maria, Duo etc.
Seemingly it's to expensive to manufacturer locally or merely no one interested.

But question is, do we still have a local manufacturer, ie. the previous TRITON Pro-Zig Zag or Gummy who we can support ?

Who manufactures MIAS product PREDATOR Comet ?

The knock offs King Fisher sells are crap. Their lure is a hit and mis affair. I have some that are cast with the weight off center and they dont swim right. Nobody has really been able to make the original Onda. If you do decide to buy that lure, turn it over and eyeball to see if the weight is centered bfore parting with cash.

The Onde is just one of those lures that can be copied but not duplicated. It's been so many years since we've seen the originals that people forgot about them and moved on.
Besides like you say, there are other small stickbaits to take their place. Back in the day they were the bomb.
I got only 4 left, I only fish the purple 100mm now the rest are stored away for memories.
But if someday did make an exact duplicate I would buy a few.

I wouldn't call it knock offs as for as many are being sold , just as many anglers are having success.
Yes, there might be some dissatisfied anglers like yrself, with odd lures not casted perfectly, due to slip-ups in the production line, but question remains who in SA can either make or source good/better or affordable quality Onda type lures.

Here's a link to the fishman site, these lures also have a soft-ish gummy like resin coating on them. From the pics of onda lures that i found online, these are what came to mind

We've had a lot of luck with the Flanker lure.Mainly in the natural colour Shad just seem to love it, I only take out my Onde originals if the Flanker doesn't produce.

There are slabs of tin out there that the only way a shad wont eat it is if you throw a 5kg box of pillies in the water..just sayin LOL..the molds are way older than me..

Contact Wayne Stanley, Seal Point lure, and he will point you in the right direction..The crown for the best elf fishermen I've ever met would be on his head if it was not for his mate being as lethal, or his friendly rival ..being as good..And they all use the same lure, or one of two..unless wayne is trying to have some fun and get them riled up on one of his stickbait plugs..

A 1.5oz in tin...two molds, all you ever need for elf..if you swim it in a gully and you dont get an on, then there are no elf in that gully and you move on to the next.

Very poor quality. Like I said, often copied but not duplicated.
Bennie IIRC you did some tests to see what kind of epoxy was used in the originals, what were the results?

The original is still king.
