Lekka Bennie,

Tell the lightie I say congratulations!!

Nice that you boated a couta....
They were few and far between

I only managed 2 x sharks and a fairly decent Bonito.
Never launched today, opted to drive back to JHB early this morning and beat the mad rush that comes with the Easter weekend.

Was the fishing any better today?

Thanks bud, I'll let him know.
Very few fish came out, conditions were at least a lot better today.

nice!!!
well done.

we dropped 2x on the 2nd day.
landed a great tiger of about 2 meters.

ahh well, there is always next year too!!!

left durbs at 13:00 then got stuck in traffic at the tugela plaza which was closed.

there were 3x accidents near the van reenens pass.

just after the de hoek plaza there was another accident involving 4 vehicles.

eventually got back home safely at 22:30.

Bliksem....

9.5 hrs to get home from Durbs...
Good to hear you got back safely.

Was it still raining?
It rained properly from when we left Durban, all the way up to JHB...

Pity about the weather over the weekend, wasn't the greatest...

"Bok van Blerk" really brought some "Gees" to the Festival on Sunday evening, what with the dismal weather and Fishing...

we left durbs with some light drizzle.
near maritzburg we had a good down pour.

then drizzle again all the way back home, at times the road started drying out and then properly wet.

ja, it was a long drive.
luck was not on our side, yesterday.
the one fish was very good, ran into the backing with a smile!
and we still had 1 rod out to clear before we could starts chasing it.

it was a prize fish, that is clear.

at least we got some fish on Wednesday!
landed 5 bonnies and a very good gar fish.
in total we had 11 pulls, some did not stick.
Thursday we had a short window!!
managed 2x cudas and lost one next to the boat.
also managed a hammer heard shark.

fish were there and feeding, we also ran back to get some more bait but is was bad outside so we left for the safety of the beech.

oja, I forgot to mention...
on day one we passed a boat, who obviously were trolling live bait too fast.

when not balanced, live bait will start to spin!!!

they had a tangle on the boat with line which was clearly wound up.
why they tried sorting it out is unknown.

remember, if this does happen to you, then rather cut the section of line off and dispose of it properly.

wound up line will stay wound up as it has a memory

Haven't been on Sealine for awhile & came across this older post, anyway here's wifey with her Cuda on Day 1, she won the ladies division. We also got 2nd ladies prize on our boat & 8th overall with a 16,8Kg
