Need to mount a waterproof box inside my splash well as the idiot that i bought a trim and tilt unit cit the cord short who had a waterproof box on the market ?

A proper resin joint would be better? The kind they use for borehole cable joints. I have also made one using a PVC pipe and PU resin from AMT which worked great.

Yes thinking the same even a tube filled with silicone would work i suppose .box is bonus as i could fit the solenoids in it as well in a neat compact unit .

Howzit bud. Just pop round to your local ACDC and pick up a mini cable joining kit. They work fantastically and are very small (made specifically for normal 1.5 and 2.5 sqmm cabtyre). The joint is fully submersible.

Check the "Resin filled Cabtyre joint IP68"

I've come to the conclusion over the years that the only thing silicone is good for is building fish tanks.

I've never built a fish tank tho. ;)

Seen that silicon tape used in a pinch too...You also get waterproof joiners used in LED lighting that have heavy duty shrinktube with solder inside..Not sure of the ins and outs, seen both used..
But on the sea safer is better..We had ALL our cables and electrics cut by some tikkoppe that thought the motors looked nice..Didn't bank on the crazy neighbor and his S&W though ;) But we had to replace all our cabling and redo it all..

Yes was thinking of that but wanted ideally to house the full unit solenoid etc in one hiusing .https://youtu.be/EfxzxS_tMtQ

Same... ACDC (or any reasonable electrical supplier) will sell IP68 boxes. Just ask for waterproof glands for the cables at the same time.
